Frequently asked questions.
Training Delivery
What types of training do you offer?
We provide a wide range of training designed for professionals working in children’s residential care, education, fostering, and therapeutic settings. Our programmes include online induction modules, safeguarding, attachment and trauma, behaviour support, reflective practice, and physical intervention refreshers.
Can training be tailored to our organisation’s needs?
Yes — absolutely. All our workshops and courses can be adapted to reflect your team’s experience, service type, and care model. We’ll work closely with you to ensure the content aligns with your policies, values, and the needs of your children and young people.
Do you offer both online and face-to-face delivery?
Yes. We deliver training both online via live interactive workshops and in-person at your service or designated venue. Many organisations choose a blended approach — combining online inductions with live reflective sessions and team development days.
How long do training sessions last?
Our live sessions typically range from 90 minutes to a full day, depending on the topic and your goals. Online induction modules are self-paced, allowing staff to complete them flexibly around shifts.
Who delivers the training?
All Mind Forest Psychology trainers are qualified mental health and social care professionals with extensive experience in trauma-informed practice, therapeutic care, and leadership in residential and education settings.
Will staff receive certificates?
Yes — each participant receives a certificate of completion, confirming attendance and key learning outcomes. These can be used as evidence for CPD portfolios, Ofsted inspections, and professional development records.
Do you offer group discounts or membership options?
Yes. Organisations can join our Mind Forest Business Membership, which includes unlimited induction access, monthly live workshops, safeguarding refreshers, and discounted reflective practice, clinical input, and physical intervention training.
How do we book training for our team?
You can contact us directly through our website or email our bookings team. We’ll help you select the most relevant sessions, arrange scheduling, and provide all joining or venue details.
Clinical Consultation and Support
What is a clinical consultation?
Clinical consultation provides a safe, structured space for staff teams or managers to reflect on the emotional and psychological aspects of their work. It helps professionals make sense of complex behaviour, improve team communication, and strengthen therapeutic care approaches.
Who provides clinical consultations?
All consultations are delivered by registered psychologists or senior clinicians from our Mind Forest Psychology team, who specialise in trauma-informed care, attachment, and complex developmental trauma.
What’s the difference between clinical consultation and supervision?
While both offer reflective space, clinical consultation focuses on understanding the needs and emotional world of the child — supporting the team to adapt their care approach. Supervision, in contrast, often includes performance management and procedural elements.
How often should consultations take place?
We usually recommend monthly or bi-monthly sessions, depending on the size and complexity of your service. Regular consultation supports consistency, staff wellbeing, and better outcomes for children.
Can you provide individual consultations or case formulations?
Yes. We offer both team-based consultations and individual case formulations, helping staff understand the underlying needs and trauma history of specific young people. This can guide care planning, de-escalation, and behaviour support strategies.
Are consultations confidential?
Yes. Clinical consultations are confidential within professional boundaries. Information is shared only when it’s necessary for safeguarding, safety, or professional accountability.
Do you work with organisations outside of residential childcare?
Yes. We also support schools, fostering agencies, schools, therapeutic communities, parents and other social care settings that work with children, young people, and families.
How can we access clinical consultation?
Simply contact us through the website to discuss your service needs. We’ll match you with a clinician and agree on the format, either in-person, online, or hybrid.
Do you offer one-off or ongoing packages?
Both options are available. Many organisations choose ongoing monthly consultation packages for consistency and support, but we also provide one-off or time-limited sessions for specific cases or service reviews.
What are your fees?
Fees vary depending on the type of session, number of participants, and delivery format. We’re happy to provide a detailed quotation or membership package that best suits your organisation’s budget and needs.
